To celebrate the launch of our City Pop inspired mini palettes we've compiled a list of our favourite City Pop songs for you to add to your playlist!

1. 4:00 A.M. - Taeko Onuki

Yes, we named one of the shades in the 'Night' palette after this classic. You may have heard an edit of this one which has become very popular on TikTok!

2. Remember Summer Days - Anri

Another one name dropped in our 'Day' version of the palette. Anri is THE summer city pop queen (no seriously, this woman has the word 'summer' in 90% of her song titles.

3. Desired - Wake Up

While this is technically a future funk track, it definitely shares a lot of similarities production wise with City Pop; plus Desired's aesthetic for their artwork is to die for!

4. Plastic Love - Mariya Takeuchi

Another classic, you've probably heard this one before as its been sampled a lot within the vaporware genre.

5. Yung Bae - Welcome To The Disco feat. Macross 82-99

OKAY, I know you're wondering how another future funk track ended up on our City Pop essentials playlist BUT this track is too good to not include and really captures the aesthetic we were going for with the palette design but in music form. Give it a listen; you won't be dissapointed!

6. Out of Time - The Weeknd/Midnight Pretenders - Tomoko Aran

Putting both tracks together, as The Weekend used the instrumental of this track by Tomoko for his track 'Out of Time'. Both tracks are almost identical music wise, but with very different lyrics!

7. Bay City - Junko Yagami

Ending with lucky number 7 is Junko Yagami's 'Bay City', this is another one where the vocals have been remixed countless times and a personal favourite!
